All Saints Anglican Church of Peachtree City officially installed its Rector, Reverend Michael Fry last week. Bishop David Anderson of the Convocation of Anglicans in North America (CANA) led the proceedings.
“It was just a beautiful ceremony,” said parishioner George Press. “A very moving event; I am just glad to be part of it all.”
The rite which is properly known as the Office of Institution involved the passing of the keys to the 303 Kelly Drive church to the priest. Senior Warden David Wardell, the ranking lay member of the parish made the presentation.
Anderson gave Fry a copy of the Holy Bible and the Book of Common Prayer and charged him with following them in performing his duties while leading his congregation. Fry, who was appointed rector last November, then led the parish in Holy Communion.
As one of six Bishops in CANA, Anderson is charged with the spiritual and administrative leadership of all congregations in the southeastern United States. CANA is headquartered in Herndon, Virginia under Bishop Martyn Minns and is affiliated with the Anglican Church of Nigeria.
